Recently, Mallory1712 has been a bad, bad influence on me. She’s got some ah-mazing taste and I love the sparkle she adds to my day. Girl knows how to jazz up life! I was looking at my vanity, wanting to film, then a bath sounded better… then I saw that there were a few nude lip products that I’d been loving. Guess who the culprit was for me buying all 4 of these? Yup, seems that sparkle caught some sun and made me get all 4 of these! Bad Mallory! Bad!!!
First, lets start with the 2 MAC products. MAC is a little bit like drugstore to me – I really only go by recommendation now. It’s too ridiculous with the releases and such I just wait until someone tells me I need them. Mallory mentioned these 2 in her lipstick addict tag. They are Underaged Lipglass & Blankety lipstick. I still hate the way MAC lipsticks smell, but I can move on from it.
Underaged is a typical lipglass texture – a little sticky. It stays well and I love the size for my bag. It’s a pretty nude gloss with a touch of pink so I like wearing this to tone down lipsticks to make it more day appropriate, to top off a nude lipstick or to wear on it’s own. I actually like the combo of these 2 products together because Blankety is more brown and Underage brings it a little back to life with some pink & shine. Blankety is an Amplified finish which is one of my favorites from MAC. They are easy to wear and have a TOUCH of shine. They feel good on the lips and don’t wear patchy on me.
Next was the YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush. She did a video on the 4 she has with swatches. This one isn’t a complete “nude” in terms of how many think of nude, but I consider this nude because to me, nude means what you’re covering up. My lips aren’t flesh colored. They are lip colored. This is a pretty lip color that keeps it light and airy with a pretty lilac-mauve tone that looks really natural. I like this for both lips and cheeks (I think this would be a nude cheek color, too because it just livens up cheeks and looks natural). I will say the formula for lips is a touch drying, but I always put a balm on underneath anything I wear so I don’t have issues if I do that. You can see the applicator in the photo above and it’s a little different, but really user friendly. It blends well on the cheeks and lips and I don’t think this stains, just hugs the lips nicely.
Here are the 2 glosses together… YSL & MAC. I know it’s a little dark (sorry I like to edit my photos that way) but you can see how these are 2 very different nudes and it just depends on your preference. I have been reaching for the YSL much more since it’s a dual product and I feel it adds more life.
Next is the Rouge Coco Shine by Chanel in Satisfaction. This has to be a different formula than previously because this is much more creamy and long lasting than my other Shine formulas. It lasts so much better and has great pigmentation. This has to be the most true nude of the bunch, but I won’t lie, sometimes I just like that. If you are really pale this might be a little too much for you, but if I wear a smokier eye than normal, I have really been loving how effortless this is. A touch of shine + great formula have been really easy breezy. It’s kind of like “man, I spent forever on my eyes I don’t want to worry about my lips!” type of lipstick. I love that you can stick in your purse, no mirror required. No fuss is my jam. I think skintones a touch darker than me will find this a home run.
