Claire Pettibone

I was watching Pawn Stars and doing some serious pinning on Pinterest when I saw a friend from college pinned a wedding dress… From Claire Pettibone. My wedding dress that I wore almost 4 years ago now was by none other than the amazing Claire Pettibone. Her dresses are unbelievably gorgeous and I couldn’t help but tell “my dress story”.

I’ve heard so many dress stories. I’ve watched countless episodes of Say Yes To The Dress. I’ve been there while friends tried dress after dress and I’ve heard all the advice for picking the dress. And I mean all of it. Pick something classic, pick the first dress you love, get something unique…. My story is none of that and quite anti-climatic. I saw the Larissa in a cake decorating magazine before my husband and I were even thinking of getting engaged, let alone married. I hung it on my wall for a couple of years & when we got engaged, Claire Pettibone was the first call I made. I bought it sight-unseen and picked it up at the shop a few weeks before my wedding. And that was it.

Unfortunately, when my dressed got cleaned and preserved, it got pretty much destroyed. Hopefully, if my husband is reading this, he gets it repaired for our anniversary this year. Although I don’t think he knows I blog, so hopefully he’s gotten into mind reading recently…

I love her other lace designs. I think she does so many amazing things! The back of my dress had a removable train, but was quite a bit of work to puff out.
