Dior Blushes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I literally went bananas over the newish Dior blushes – the vibrant ones. I got asked to review/swatch them by a few people.

Let me just say, I think these have gotten a really bad rap for no reason. Yes, they swatch a little chalky. But no, they don’t apply chalky. The colors are pretty and smooth and I love the flush that it gives. My favorites are Mimi Bronze and Happy Cherry; though all the colors I own are great.

They go on sheer with a standard blush brush but can easily be built up. They wear well and blend out well. The brush it comes with is a soft angled brush that is easily usable. Though, it will apply the colors more on the sheer side.

I wanted the other 3 colors I’m missing, but the last color I got was My Rose. A pretty rose color, but this is REALLY sheer. I was afraid cocktail peach in particular would be the same so I haven’t picked up the remaining. I will consider it when Sephora does another sale, however. Lucky Pink also looked really pretty so why not?

My first one, this is a bright coral color. This goes on sheer, but can be built. No shimmer, but it’s more of a satin finish rather than matte. I love the peach glow this gives my cheeks and think this would look good on a variety of skin tones.

mimi bronze

I pile this on! One of the first bronze blushes I’ve ever really loved. This one stays really warm and doesn’t pull pink when applied. It has a little bit of micro-shimmer but to me that doesn’t translate. This makes my skin look really glow-y. I’ve seen lots of people wear this color and I think this one is probably a favorite of the line. If you’re looking for a more brown blush, Mimi Bronze is where it’s at.

happy cherry

Another favorite of mine. This one has a slightly different sheen to it than just the satin finish, but it’s not sparkly. I love the glow this gives with a red base. A pretty color on fair and dark skins alike.

my rose

One of my least favorites, this one just isn’t pigmented enough for me. I often layer it or use it if I’m going for a really dramatic eye which is not often. If you like a light rose color, you will like this. Due to the pigmentation, I don’t think dark skinned gals or guys will get along with this.

rosy glow

This is in a different line, but such a pretty Dior blush! It’s supposed to adjust to your skin, but it’s just a bright pink. I think this is another that looks good on all skin tones. The pigmentation on this is excellent and most times I only add a dab to the apples of my cheeks. I like this to perk up a look when I’ve put on lots of bronzer. If you want to try a bright colored blush, I’d opt for rosy glow.

new red

Such a pretty “Snow White” red. This seems just like a plain red, but really translates differently than any other red I’ve ever seen. It’s so pretty and I love that it’s a little sheer and can be built up. It’s more of a matte finish and gives less of a glow than happy cherry, so it just depends which color you prefer. I think both are gorgeous.

highlighters

I have both highlighters – rose and amber diamonds. I prefer rose since I tend to wear colors like happy cherry & rosy glow most often. It gives a really pretty pink glow. Amber diamonds is most talked about and is really pretty in summer for me. I like wearing these as eyeshadows as well.

Hopefully this was helpful! I wanted you to see them all on since they aren’t chalky when applied. Such pretty colors and more of a satin finish.

Tom Ford blushes or Diorblush??? Which would look better on mature skin with rather large pores?

Ohhhh you guys ask hard questions, but I’d probably go with Tom Ford. Mostly because price difference isn’t too large and the texture on the TF is more conducive for more mature skin.
