I’ve been asked a lot about my skin care… Extravaganza. Above is my skincare tray that just keeps growing full of good stuff. I have lots of natural skincare because it’s just simply good. I don’t really limit myself, but I do love that most these brands are good ingredients & not tested on animals.
I thought I’d start by showing you an easy morning routine that I’ve been doing a lot. It’s quick, good for your skin, and gets you makeup prepped. Also, all these products are a) great for just about everyone or b) can easily be swapped for your faves!
Step 1: Clarins One-Step Cleanser. This stuff is great for morning because it’s gentle, but starts you off on a clean slate. It’s not drying & requires no water. I find the Bioderma a little drying and that is more effective for removal of eye makeup & such and you don’t have any of that left in the morning, right?! This will take anything residual off, but is not the best for a waterproofed full face of makeup. I am also loving the Trish McEvoy waterless cleanser & that packs a bigger punch if you’re looking for something more serious!
Step 2: Elizabeth Dhen for One Love Organics Vitamin D Spray. Longest name, best product. Give it a light shake and mist on skin. You’ll instantly feel revived and the time release actually works. This is the perfect hydration for oily skin since you get moisture, but it’s not overwhelming your skin. I use as a refresher throughout the day, as a makeup setting spray and as a night treatment. This is my second bottle which should show you how obsessed I am over it. I decant a small amount in a mini spray bottle to go. I also use Stark Skincare’s Willow Bark (typically at night). I like to use this in mornings if my face is really red due to the anti-inflammatory ingredients. Since it also has watermelon in it, it’s really hydrating but it’s great for oily or acne prone skin in general. It’s now twice the size with a spray bottle for relatively the same price. Win.
Step 3: One Love Organics Morning Glory oil. This stuff has really taken me by surprise. I think I didn’t initially love because the effects aren’t instant. However, the more I use the more I love. The longer term effects have been great at calming redness & helping balancing my skin. If you have this, don’t overlook! Stay persistent, this stuff is great! It smells good and is really lightweight. The anti-inflammatory helps calm everything in the morning & adds slight moisturization. I have oily skin and this isn’t problematic. African Botanics Marula oil is also another great choice for the am. It brightens & plumps skin and adds moisture. Any left over on your hands? Swipe through the ends of your hair and add instant shine & pick me up. Look for something light & calming in the am if you’re looking for something else.
Step 4: Pai Argan Eye Cream. Ok so I really do love this for morning time so I don’t want you to get the wrong idea, but this isn’t a 100% must have. The price is reasonable and the bottle is gorgeous. The product is thin, but ultra hydrating which I love. Probably my favorite eye cream I’ve ever used… So why am I complaining? The pump. I often get too much – especially for the morning since I don’t put any on my eye lids. It’s gentle, effective & quite nice… I wish it had a different pump. I honestly don’t have a good morning alternative. Most are too heavy or don’t moisturize so that’s why I picked this one. It’s perfect for every morning. I don’t like the cooling roller ball ones because I find they can either get gloppy under my eyes (not attractive for makeup application) or don’t provide enough hydration.
Step 5: Lip balm! I use the Pai lip balm right now and I love for mornings. It smells so good & it’s perfect for pre-lip product application. I’m actually missing it right now while I’m out of town. It’s hydrating, but not so much that products slip off. It adds a nice texture to the lips before lipstick and lipstick doesn’t slide off. I found the Nuxe too mattifying and the By Terry to rich for mornings. The Trish McEvoy was too glossy for mornings, but I love it in my bag. Enter Pai: a great little addition to my easy morning routine!
Step 6: Pai Skincare Geranium & Thistle moisturizer. I was a little hesitant to order due to the price, but this is a great lightweight gentle moisturizer. The reason I chose to show it is because if you are in a hurry in the morning, pick a moisturizer that doubles as a primer. This really preps my skin for anything I put on top. I personally prefer to have SPF put on separately or in my makeup for daily sunscreen. Aveeno has a great budget friendly alternative with SPF of that’s what you’re looking for. The Pai is a really great moisturizer plus all the added luxury touches (like the glass bottle and pump) make it worth the money. This ships free overnight on the Pai Skincare web site.
I hope you enjoyed! I’ll be doing more insights to the products I love soon! Do you have any tips or products you love for the am?
