When going through my list of favorites, I noticed a common theme: mixing of products. Lord knows my motivation is completely shot to shoot a video right now, and so I’m giving you 3 monthly favorites… 6 products in total. You’re welcome.
First pairing is Clarins Multi-Active Day and Lotus Face Oil. I have owned the oil for awhile now and liked it a lot, but never quite figured it out. Use it at night? Seemed a little pointless. Using it all over my face during the day was a little awkward; it took a couple of minutes to really set properly and who has time for that? I picked up multi-active day sometime in August I think and liked it a lot; a gorgeous texture with perfect hydration – not too much, not too little. The problem? I noticed my skin got oilier throughout the day when I wore it consistently. I have been pairing the 2 for about a month now and I’m not sure how I survived without it. All the hydration and benefits of a beautiful day cream and oil control. Perfection.
Next is the Giorgio Armani master corrector in pink (#1) and the new concealer from Clarins (Instant Corrector). That is a sample size, but it’s lasted me ages so I haven’t opened up my full size yet (just for reference). I apply my corrector under my eyes and found that the Clarins concealer adds the perfect coverage while looking unbelievably natural. I wear color number 2. I am glad I tried it first because I think the 1 is actually too light for me. If I wanted something really brightening, I would have picked it… but I just love that this is perfectly natural. I love it too because it doubles as a great concealer for my skin, too. I was a little sad (and relieved) to hear they reformulated the Clay De Peau concealer that I love and it just wasn’t the same. I think this is better. I love the finish of this concealer. And when on top of the corrector? It’s a black-eye banisher. Bye-bye dark circles, it was fun…
I saved the best for last. Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I mix them in my hands, plop on my face and put on a smile and tada! Foundation routine complete! I liked the beauty flash balm, but it didn’t seem to show through my foundations and I rarely thought to wear it on the weekends alone. It’s a great primer, but only with certain foundations. Remember how I said the Jouer was a little too dark? Not any more! The flash balm also has some pink/brightening elements to it so it makes it a great match. If you are looking to amp up your foundations for winter and de-mattify, this is a great option. I will say I don’t love mixing it with every foundation I own, but it does work for most. It seems to work best with foundations you want to give more of a glowy finish to or brighten up a bit.
Any amazing pairings you know of? I love pairing products that weren’t getting the love they deserved and creating an everyday, custom must-have!
