Look what came in the mail today! The ellusive Chanel Jersey Joues Contraste blush! This was released…somewhere… a few weeks ago and it seemed as though this would not be coming to the states. In a panic, I googled until my eyes nearly popped out and found this pre-sale on Bloomingdales.com. It said 19 days from a few days ago and it also said I’d get notification of shipment… neither of which were true. I don’t mind getting it early, but it was a slightly different color than I was expecting, so I thought I’d post some pictures/swatches for you! Even in the photo above, I was noticing how it really does seem to photograph slightly more peach than reality!
Here is a closeup of Chanel’s Jersey. It’s much more brown in tone than peach than I personally was expecting. Even more so in the swatch (below). I thought this might be a dupe for other orange/peach Chanel blushes, but it was not at all. It is more of a warm-toned brown. It is sheer but easily build-able. It has a really soft, silky texture. It does have glitter/shimmer in it, but I call it the “Chanel shimmer”. It’s just enough to give the blush some depth, but you NEVER look like a disco-ball and even in direct sunlight, you look really natural and pretty. It’s a very classic finish. In bright lights, I do see a hint of rose metallic finish, but it’s very slight and only apparent when I move around in the light.
I think if you like really warm toned blushes, you will really love Jersey. Accent was a little more sheer with a little more purplish undertones to it. Jersey was a little more brown/pink undertones. All 3 colors (Rose Bronze, Jersey and Accent) had a similar finish with similar amounts of Chanel shimmer, but Rose Bronze had a slightly more metallic finish. Rose Bronze was most pink with some brown notes, Jersey is brown with some pink notes & Accent was slightly cooler than Jersey with more of the purple/brown undertones.
So there you have it! I’m totally swooning over it! Even though it was a little bit of a surprise (to get and the color), I still find this unique to my other Chanel Joues Contraste blushes. I think you could find a similar tone blush, but I doubt the finish or texture would be as good.
