I recently bought the Dior Nail Glow from Sephora. That inspired me to go back to some of my favorite Dior products and I realized many of them are just so rosy! I put this post together to go through some mini reviews of some of the Dior Glow line. So, let’s get glowing!
The Dior Lip Glow (balm version) I believe was one of the first rosy glow items in the collection. I have to say, looking at these products, I can see how I got hooked. I think Dior is to perfectly glowing products as Chanel is to beautiful, classy shimmer. The line has since expanded into cheeks, skin and even nails.
The cream of the crop: these are my top 4 glowy Dior products. Left to right: Lip Glow Gloss, Nail Glow, Lip Glow Balm & Rosy Glow Blush. These are my most reached for and most loved. The nail glow is quickly becoming a staple.
Rosy Glow Blush: This product confuses me to no end. It swatches slightly chalky and is a light/muted peony pink. Though on my cheeks, it’s a pretty pop of peony pink and comes alive. Nothing chalky and somewhat trans-formative on the skin. I’ve been loving it with lightly bronzed skin and putting this right on the apples for a pink pop.
Don’t let the light pink fool you, this rosy balm completely transforms when applied on your lips.
Lip Glow (Balm): I’ve quickly got my mom addicted to this ridiculously overpriced balm. It reminds me of a sophisticated mood lipstick from back in the day. A light, creamy pink in the tube explodes on the lips. This really does look different on my mom than it does me. On her, it’s pop of pink grounded in a pretty rose hue. On me, it’s a bright hot pink with a slight rosy lean. It feels good, looks good and let’s face it, you just look good pulling it out of your purse.
Lip Glow Gloss: Such a pretty color and perfectly formulated. Gives my lips that just bitten look with a pretty shine. Easy to apply on the go and doesn’t dry out my lips.
Nail Glow: I’ll be honest, it takes the right person to love this. It’s not for everyone. I have nice nails (just lucky I guess), but rarely keep up with them. Seriously, ain’t no one got time for that. Then, this polish came along. It’s like a top coat on glowy steroids. It’s quick, easy, low maintenance and my nails always look good now. No base coat, no top coat and no fuss. The light hits it just right and it’s a beautiful “oh my gosh, your nails are gorgeous!” effect. If you like painting your nails colors and are really good at keeping up, you will probably never understand the glory that is Dior Nail Glow.
Attempt to photograph my nails. You can start to see the color here, but when you are outside or are in really direct light, it turns into a beautiful glowing polish that is a true stunner.
These seem fuchsia pink, but you can see the transparency in the bottles. The lip gloss has a nice big brush that makes it easy to apply (not sloppy at all) and the brushes in the Dior nail polishes are amazing. I have a large nail bed, and these make it effortless to apply perfectly.
Last, but not least 3 additional glowy products from Dior. Lip gloss in 576, Creme De Rose and Lip Maximizer.
Lip Gloss Addict 576: I got this some time ago at the recommendation of Missglamourazzi. Don’t get me wrong, these are gorgeous glosses. Pretty, sparkly, not too sticky, easy to apply…yada yada yada. Though I just don’t reach for it. I find I don’t love it alone, and it’s too pigmented for me to reach for to layer. It’s pretty, but I’d save your money. Just not worth the price. I should clarify… if you can find a color that becomes a staple in your collection, I think these are great. This color is just not one I reach for and use all the time!
Creme De Rose: Can we say overrated? I reach for this a lot (I’ve nearly hit pan). It smells nice, looks good on my vanity and it’s just ok. I don’t regret trying it out, but I won’t be repurchasing. It’s luxurious, but is really nothing to write home about if I’m being honest.
Lip Maximizer: I got this as a sample for “free” (ie redeeming points through Sephora’s VIB program). I actually really love this. It seems like nothing special, so I’m pretty sure there’s some addictive substance put in this. I’ve been reaching for it frequently. I like that it’s more muted than the Lip Glow Gloss and it feels nice. I feel nothing maximizing about it. Perhaps it’s simplicity that I like? My head wants to tell you this is completely unnecessary, but my heart knows I’ll be going to Sephora and picking up a full size when this is gone.
Swatches: Rosy Glow Blush, Lip Glow Balm, Gloss in 576 & Lip Glow Gloss
I used to have the primer and concealer, but no longer own them. The primer was ok (quite glow-y actually), but didn’t actually do much in terms of primer. It had a strange applicator and I could just never get into it. When I swatched it today, I realized that it was pretty, but then there was that laundry list of items that make you go, “oh, yeah I remember why I don’t have that any more.” The concealer was nice as well, but just ok. It didn’t have enough coverage for me, but actually thought of going back to use as an under eye highlight. I liked it better than the YSL counterpart because though coverage was low, it was better than YSL.
I suppose those weren’t all glowing reviews, but I hope you are all feeling a little more glowing just reading this. I think if I could recommend one product it would be to determine where you want some glow. My pick is the nail polish because it’s transformed how I maintain my nails, but the balm is also a huge staple. I think if you bought someone the balm for a gift, they would be one happy camper… so buy yourself a gift today. You deserve happiness.
