I added to my Chanel collection. Oops. In my defense, it was items that were on my list for a long, long time. I was also there to buy things for my mom. So really, it’s pretty much a wash.
Tweed Rose blush: I can see why this is such a staple in so many people’s collections. It’s simple, sweet and elegant. It’s pretty much everything Chanel stands for. It’s a true dust rose. You can layer this on and it’s just, simple. If you don’t want something flashy and you want something easy – this is a great one to look at.
Brume D’Or blush: This one was not on my list. But in my defense, it was part of the Diwali collection from fall 2012. You can’t find it anywhere… except my Saks for some odd reason. I have no idea why mine still has it, but I won’t question it at this point. It’s a beautiful bronze blush with light shimmer (almost lost when on your skin). It pulls a rose bronze when applied and it’s simply screams summer to me. A light hand is needed (probably on any skin tone), but it sure is a beauty.
Lotus eyeshadow: A true everyday classic. It’s a creamy, subtle shimmer that works perfect as a base or inner-corner highlight. Especially if you don’t want to be reminiscent of your high school make-up days (high school was 10 years ago and watching young girls pile on bright white under their eyebrow or inner corner literally makes me cringe!). I love that it adds a glow to the eyes without screaming “LOOK AT ME! I’M TOTES SUPER GLAMOROUS!”
Trace eyeshadow: Though I do love this deep mahogany brown with shimmer, it doesn’t quite translate the way I wish it could. It’s pretty and a keeper, but I’m very “meh” when applied. Still working on the best way to apply, but it does make a nice liner and a pretty outer corner color.
Happy mother’s day! 2 hours of Revenge! Go team!
