My Girls

You know those moods where no matter what happens you’re just happy? Overwhelmed, trying to dodge all the bullets, but somehow still standing. Not every day is a good day, but there’s good in every day. That’s the feeling I’m having now. Feeling so lucky to have some great girls in my life.

Laura and Erik just left and I’m so sad they are gone. We haven’t seen them in a few years (yes, years!) and only got a weekend with them. Though, I’m just so grateful to have such wonderful people in our lives. Those that just brighten your spirit and remind you just how lucky you really are. Laura completely energized me to keep going forward with videos and this blog. I think it’s good to hear that encouragement from a good friend.

I also caught up with Jen tonight and though my heart is slightly broken she’s turning into a real Canadian (ok, I had to say it out loud!), I’m also so happy I have a friend who just makes you feel like yourself. The ones that are a guaranteed smile. It feels as though we live our lives in parallel and we keep each other focused on truth; that we are both awesome. Totally, f’ing awesome.

Then, there’s Ashely. In a panic trying to find a baby gift for a first time mom (ok, who let the girl without any children pick the group gift???), I put out an SOS call. Even at work, with her boss in the room, still managed to get me an idea that was a hit.

Guess who my three bridesmaids were? Yup, Ashely, Laura & Jen. True friends for 28, 9, and 7 years.

Then, there’s Molly. Sitting here watching me type. Sitting next to her bone, wagging that adorable tail as if to say “can we walk NOW?”. These are my girls.

And then I think of another ending volleyball season. My girls were so amazing. They pushed me, challenged me, drove me crazy and made me laugh. Seriously smile. I can’t believe I don’t walk into “look, I copied your nails!” or “why do you always do that with your hair?”. Though they pushed me to my limits, they were so talented and so fun to be around and I will miss them all.

I could go on and on, but just feeling so happy this week. Things coming to a close, but still so grateful for the wonderful girls and friends that surround me.

Flowers I bought for Eirik & Laura to enjoy in their guest room.
