New In: Bobbi Brown

I feel so unbelievably behind, I didn’t even know where to start! Work had some unexpected & expected changes that caused me to have to finish a few things and spend more time working. Last Friday, I worked until 8:30 at night. I know you’re totally jealous. It’s exciting times, so it’s nothing bad but it put a halt in the amount of time I had to do videos and photos. Also, I went to Chicago and hung out with Danielle! We had so much fun! More beautiful things to come! We are also re-arranging our house and setting up a filming/vanity area. I wanted a place to leave things setup so I could easily take photos and have my makeup in 1 place. I’m really excited, but of course, it takes time. Sigh, life. So let’s march onward: some pretties from Bobbi Brown!

First up is the new portable brush with a cream smudge on 1 end and ultra fine liner on the other. I got a mini of the ultra fine liner and wanted a full size so I was pretty stoaked to find this. It’s a very clever design – I love how the ultra fine side retracts in and out. The cream smudge has a nice lid. It’s super awesome design and not a pain to have a double-ended brush. Though I will say, I wish I had bout just the ultra fine liner which is a fraction of the price. The cream smudge isn’t bad, but it doesn’t really do much for me. It’s not really a laydown brush, not really a liner… Kind of meh. My vote is ultra fine!

Next was the natural brow shaper in blonde. I really love this! If you have really long brow hairs, this a a great option. It really holds them in place. The color is perfect for natural blondes, too. It’s quick & easy. It’s one of the best gels I’ve used. My brows do feel a little crispy if I apply too much, but don’t look it. It looks really natural and effortless. This doesn’t really fill in sparse areas of the brow, but does take super blonde hairs and make them look all kinds of natural pretty. I think if you are a stickler for grooming your brows or have very sparse brows, you’ll probably stick to a pencil. I’m loving how effortless it is and how it holds down my hairs so well.

So the new sparkle shadow + liner is the reason I wanted to do this review first. I really, really wanted to return this. Then I used it a little more and now I’m not sure. It is slightly patchy, but the overall texture is creamy and lightweight so you can blend and smooth out really easily. My issue when I first started using is I applied with a brush. Why is that a problem? The pigment and sparkle didn’t translate to the eye. Ok, so apply with your fingers. Great. Now I have a beautiful color with glitter all over the place. Plus the packaging isn’t really great for sticking your fingers in the tub. It is really pretty when applied with the fingers. Enough that I’m seriously on the fence and might actually keep now. If you really want to apply with a brush, skip it.

Swatch of Smokey Topaz (#5) Long-Wear Gel Sparkle Shadow + Liner. Glitter! It only translates to the eye like the swatch when applied with a finger. You won’t get this effect if you apply with a brush.

Hope that was helpful! Talk soon!

Ohh that swatch is so pretty. I always apply theses types of things with my finger so that wouldn’t bother me, but the packaging for that definitely isn’t finger friendly, so that’s annoying.

I have nails so it’s annoying. Still a little back and forth on it…. love it when applied with finger, but don’t want to use my finger. Dilemma. 🙂
