Rediscovered Products

You can call it whatever you want… shopping your stash, finding new things, rediscoveries… but it’s all the same. I’ve got a lot of shit stuff in my collection. Stuff gets lost and un-loved. It’s just a simple fact of my life. So As I go through and de-clutter and re-evaluate, I thought I’d share things I’m finding that are new to me… maybe you have some of these items as well!

Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Abstraction (88): I have no idea when I bought this, but you probably saw my shameful drawer full of IDO in my vanity tour. I reached in back and pulled out this beauty. It adds a pretty wash of color and shimmer (it does have glitter) across the lid. Perfect for an easy summertime look. I also applied under my eyes. I feel like this is New Moon’s little sister.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre (Translucent): Yes, my color match is translucent. Lets move past it… I actually combined this with the One Love Organics Skin Savior Balm to create a pretty, dewy skin base. Then, I put a little powder on top. I thought it gave a really effortless, pretty look. I bet this would work better with a more pigmented powder, but I still love this loose powder nonetheless.

Chanel Cream Blush (Cheeky): A new purchase, but already went in a never-ending drawer. I was SO excited to get this and it somehow ended up pushed back. Relentless not to let this happen with this blush, I layered over the Armani fluid sheer in #11 for a pretty natural, bronze look.

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner (Scotch): New purchase, but a great waterproof tightlining pencil that will last and look really natural. I find it really easy to apply.

One Love Organics Skin Savior: A great cleansing balm, deodorant (yes, I’ve used it as such in a pinch) and apparently foundation mixing medium. I took a bit of this combined with the Chanel powder to create a glowy skin combo. The site recommends doing this, and I saw a post here that shows you how. Dry skinned gals need to try this trick! I have oily/combo skin and it’s working fine on me as well.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Rose Gold): A long, gone limited edition item that I really should use more. Sometimes, I found it too glittery so I wasn’t really reaching for it. Then I realized, used a different brush silly and I’ve fallen in love again.

Armani Fluid Sheer (11): A great bronzed base that looks good mixed with foundation, used for glow (like I did) or even on the eyelids. Why do I never use this again??

Clarins Rouge Eclat (#14, Chocolate Rose): A highly sought-after item that I finally found and hardly wear any longer. The whole range is gorgeous, this just happens to be one of my favorite colors. It applies nice, has great color and wears for a long time. It also feels really nice on the lips as well.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector (#3): I love these things but NEVER wear them. I have no idea why as they apply SUPER easy, give just the right amount of gloss and look good over just about anything or worn alone.

Trish McEvoy Cream Blender: The best brush for picking up cream shadows! Not the most gentle, but super effective. Perfect for adding them all over your eye or applying them underneath due to the stiffness.

Hakuhodo G5553-2mm: Sat in a drawer. So sad. Used this to buff in my foundation concoction and it worked beautifully.

Hakuhodo G5537BkSL: A perfect highlight brush for those of us afraid of too much product. Has a lot of give and is super soft. Need to use this waaaaay more often!

Hakuhodo J544: A great duo-fibre brush for applying cream products like the Fluid Sheers or Chanel Cream Blushes. Perfection.

The final look! Easy, breezy and perfect for everyday. Why don’t I use these things again?

Yes!!! Such a treat when you rediscover lost treasures or new uses for old ones 🙂 I had one of those Clarins lip perfector things and loved the formula but not the color. Keep threatening to get a different color but keep forgetting lolol!! That Becca rose gold shimmering skin perfector is gorgeous!!! And thank you for showing some brushes 🙂
