Ren Skincare Haul

Anyone up for a little Ren skincare haul? Yeah, I thought so. I’ve been a dedicated Clarins girl for awhile. I promise I’m not cheating on Clarins, but recently I’ve really wanted to amp up my routine. It was time to kick it into full gear. I noticed a lot of cell turnover, for instance, when I went to apply my makeup in the morning. I wanted some masks, oils and serums that meant business. I turned to Ren for a few reasons. They have a lot of what I’m looking for and they are free of a lot of nasty stuff. No parabens, no synthetic fragrance, etc. I just wanted to treat my skin right, you know? Below is the low down of the recent purchases I’ve made. I’ve only been using for about a week now, so keep that in mind as you read through.

full sized products

Clearcalm 3 Clay Cleanser, Clarifying Toning Lotion, T-Zone Balance Day Fluid, Rose O12 Moisture Serum, Invisible Pores Detox Mask

fab 4 kit

I picked up this kit for $18 at Sephora and I can’t find it anywhere. It’s turned out to be a great little kit, so if you spy it, I’d pick it up. It comes with micro polish cleanser, glycol lactic radiance renewal mask, bio retinoid anti-aging concentrate, hydra-calm day cream & a bonus of the no. 1 purity balm cleanser.

sensitive skin

Ren has some great things for sensitive skin. One thing I bought full sized was the clay cleanser for the morning. So far, I really like it. I felt like I needed something more in the mornings and I’ve run out of my one-step green cleanser by Clarins. I’ll probably go back in the summer as I find it refreshing, but I love how this clay cleanser makes my skin feel. Seems to take out all the oils and icky stuff that my face managed to accumulate over night. My face feels like a clean slate, but not too tight. The cleansing balm is just ok, but I probably won’t be swayed enough to move away from good ‘ol Emma Hardie cleansing balm… particularly at this price point. The moisturizer is growing on me and I might consider it after I run out of my Clarins. I like that it’s lightweight so in the next 2 months as I finish up my Clarins I might be looking for something like this.

oil slick control

Though I want to add moisture & exfoliation to my routine, I’ve found it still an evil necessary to shrink those pores. The invisible pores mask I’ve only used once but liked the results better than Glam Glo. Especially at the price and packaging that won’t dry out as quickly. Although I hear Glam Glo is great for spot treatment, I wanted something for all over the face and this does the trick (even better, I think) for a fraction of the price. The t-zone gel is something I just put a small pump over my t-zone and it seems to help balance out my t-zone. Makeup stays longer and my skin is getting the moisture it needs (I still wear normal moisturizer under) and my skin is prepped for makeup. This is non-sticky. I have yet to use the toner, but I’m hoping it’s a winner, too.

The face polish has really impressed me. I won’t be running out to buy a bottle anytime soon, but it’s an excellent exfoliator. It has very fine particles that don’t dissolve on contact so you get a really good scrub. Most polishes are too gentle and don’t do much, this one packs a nice punch. I’ve used the glycol lactic mask in the past and I love it. It makes my skin so nice – I need to get in the habit of using it more often.

The O12 Rose serum is freaking gorgeous. All thee people say it plumps skin and blah, blah, blah. I wasn’t expecting miricles, but picked it up because I had $75 in gift cards… so I thought it’s worth the $5 extra dollars. Boy am I glad my husband couldn’t figure out how to use his Visa gift cards from work! This stuff makes my skin glow. I noticed an instant boost. I’ve noticed my skin texture is better, my skin looks more plump and it’s definitely more hydrated. This stuff really works. I only use about 1-2 small pumps. I’ve been massaging it in my skin in the mornings for now, but will probably switch to night. The reason I’ve been using it mainly in the mornings is because I’ve been using up this sample of the bio retinoid anti-aging concentrate at night. First off, 5 pumps like the directions say is ludicrous. Who the heck would waste that much? About 2 pumps will do ya and I just massage it in my skin at night. Because I’m using it in conjunction with other products, this one is a little hard to tell how affective it really is. It might be when I run out I notice a difference. I have my eye on the keep young and beautiful serum because I think that has better properties for my skin. Once this runs out, I’ll wait a few days and see if I need one or the other. The rose serum might be enough.

Well, I hope that helps! I recorded a couple of videos today so hopefully those will be up later tomorrow for you all!
